Two years ago I ordered and planted some exotic irises. There were 8 bulbs, if I remember correctly. Last year two of them pushed up some tiny green shoots that never really developed into plants and certainly no blooms. So it was especially exciting to see the blooms this year. Only the two plants but we are glad for any at this point.
No pictures of the peonies, but the two tubers I planted 2 years ago are finally coming up. That too is exciting even if there are no blooms as yet. I had another peony plant that was alive and growing last year but no bloom there either and still none. But I will just continue to nurture and surely soon - one of these years - I will get those impressive peony blooms!
